The fastest way is to return to El Calafate and take a direct flight to Bariloche.
Trekking shoes, waterproof and comfortable clothing, and also clothes to wear in layers. In Patagonia, you can have all 4 seasons in one day. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a cap, and buf are useful too. Don’t forget to pack a small backpack for excursions.
El Chaltén has many options and for all tastes and demands. The most important trails are Laguna de los Tres (the most impressive hike with the most spectacular views of the Fitz Roy massif), Capri Lagoon, the viewpoint “Mirador del Torre”, Laguna Torre (where stands out the Cerro Torre), Pliegue Tumbado (the only hike that does not go into a valley but rises above it, It is one of the most impressive panoramic views of the whole area of El Chaltén).
