It is an excellent destination for a self-drive trip. You can pick up your vehicle at the airport and from there you can drive around the area.
This is a destination with a marked calendar for the migration of the animals of the area, which are the stars we want to see! The whales arrive in June and leave in December, the penguins arrive in September and leave in March. Some years they may arrive or leave earlier or later, but those are the estimated dates. The other animals, like elephants and sea lions, are here all year round.
It is best to dress in layers as it is in Patagonia and it can be sunny during the day and warm, as well as cold if it is cloudy or raining. At night it is usually cold. The climate is more humid than in other places in Patagonia because it is on the coast.
At least 3 nights, since the distances are long and it is not possible to visit everything in one day.
It depends on the time of the year you visit the area, but the most important would be to go whale watching, onboard or from the coast, visit the elephant seals and sea lions, you can snorkel with them, and visit the penguins in one of the reserves of the area.
