Hidden Peru: Gocta Waterfalls & Kuelap Fortress

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Lima.

• Half-Day City Tour Lima and Larco Museum

We will pick you up from your hotel to learn about the two characters of Lima: the modern one, reflected in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro; and the historic one, encapsulated in its historic center declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Along the tour through dierent districts of the city, we will see how the old and the modern coexist in buildings such as the Museum of Italian Art, Palace of Justice, Museum of Lima, Plaza San Martín, among others.

We will discover the center of Lima on foot, having the Main Square as the focal point: a beautiful colonial square worthy of photography, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace. We will have the opportunity to enter one of the most iconic ecclesiastical spaces in Lima, the Convent of Santo Domingo, also declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity and where the relics of three Peruvian saints are found: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres and San Juan Macías. The tour would not be complete without a visit to the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, one of the most important in the country, exhibiting a valuable collection of almost 45,000 pieces of pre-Hispanic cultures, especially the Mochicas. This museum stands out for being one of the first in the world to have visitable storerooms and to provide virtual access to its entire collection. We will marvel at the quality of its pieces of jewelry, textiles and its enigmatic erotic room, dedicated to ceramics alluding to fertility.

Finally we will take you back to your hotel.

• Transfer Chachapoyas Airport / Chachapoyas Hotel

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Chachapoyas.

• Half-Day Classic route to Gocta Waterfalls

The Gocta Falls are a true natural spectacle, in addition to being one of the highest in the world. This half-day walk will take us along the classic route towards this imposing natural phenomenon. Starting from Cocachimba, the tour will initially take us through farms with a variety of local crops, such as sugar cane, corn, and pineapple. Then, we will enter the most wooded area, where we can begin to see a diversity of birds, characteristic of the area.

We will continue the walk to the Trapiche, and we will have a brief rest, during which we can drink a restorative cane juice before tackling the last stretch to the falls. From here we will find ourselves in a cloud forest covered with lichens, mosses, orchids, and bromeliads, and we will pass various points with impressive panoramic views, finally arriving at the base of the falls. We will have an incredible view of the majestic waterfall, accompanied by the refreshing breeze, mist, water and the powerful sound of the waterfall, creating a unique and magical atmosphere. After absorbing the incomparable energy of the place, we will begin our way back, pausing in the Trapiche to enjoy a restorative snack.
