• Flight from Mendoza to Lima, Peru 

As the day begins, you will be transported from the peaceful surroundings of your Chacras de Coria hotel to Mendoza Airport (private service). This scenic drive offers a final glimpse of the picturesque vineyards and majestic mountains that have framed your time in Mendoza. Upon arrival in Lima, you’ll be transferred in private service to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to unwind and explore the city at your own pace.

Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru, is your gateway to the nation’s rich cultural heritage. Once the heart of the Spanish viceroyalty in South America, Lima boasts a fascinating blend of indigenous and colonial influences. Discover its beautifully preserved colonial churches and archaeological sites, or venture south to explore the ancient Caral Sacred City. Beyond its historical treasures, Lima also offers stunning Pacific Ocean beaches and a renowned culinary scene, particularly famous for its exquisite seafood.

Begin your day with a captivating tour of Lima, where the past and present blend seamlessly. • Welcome to the Inca Capital 

We’ll head to the airport for a short one-hour flight to Cusco, one of Peru’s most vibrant destinations. Known as the gateway to Machu Picchu, the iconic Inca citadel just a few hours away. Upon arrival in Cusco, we’ll transfer you directly to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, where you can unwind and settle in.

Enjoy a day at leisure in the Sacred Valley. Stroll through the charming village, visit local shops, or take a peaceful walk along the Urubamba River. For a relaxing break, find a scenic café or restaurant with a river view. If you’re looking for a more adventurous experience, feel free to book an optional tour with us.

• Optional Tours 

In one day in the Sacred Valley, you can enjoy a perfect blend of Andean scenery, living tradition, and local gastronomy. A great way to start is by visiting Chinchero, a village known for its textile workshops and wide views over the valley. Then, continue to the Maras Salt Mines, a stunning patchwork of thousands of salt pools that create a truly unique landscape. Nearby, Moray impresses with its circular terraces, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory showcasing remarkable engineering. Around midday, Urubamba is an excellent spot to enjoy a regional lunch surrounded by mountain views. In the afternoon, you can unwind at a local craft brewery, explore a pottery workshop, or simply stroll through fields and rural communities, ending the day immersed in Quechua culture and the peaceful spirit of the valley.

• Pisac and Ollantaytambo Fortress

Afterward, explore the Pisac archaeological site, marveling at the impressive stone terraces built by the Incas. Next, head to Ollantaytambo to discover its fortress, where you can admire the towering walls that once protected the citadel and its royal inhabitants. At the end of the day, return to your hotel in Cusco for a restful night.

• Train to Machu Picchu & Lunch in Aguas Calientes 

After breakfast at your hotel, your journey to Machu Picchu begins with a scenic four-hour train ride to Aguas Calientes, also known as “Machu Picchu Pueblo.” This charming town is the final stop before reaching one of Peru’s most significant archaeological sites.

Aguas Calientes is home to a train station, a craft market, a variety of restaurants, and hotels for those who prefer to stay overnight and catch an early ascent to the site. Upon arrival, a short bus ride will take you to Machu Picchu, an extraordinary feat of Incan engineering and architecture. Serving as a sanctuary for the Inca emperor Pachacutec, this UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

After your tour, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes for a delightful lunch at Café Inkaterra Machu Picchu. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure.

• Continue Discovering Aguas Calientes before Returning to Cusco 

In the morning, we suggest you return to Machu Picchu to explore more of the citadel’s attractions (second-day entrance not included, but can be requested).

You may visit the Intipunku, or “Sun Gate,” where the sun rises every day through this door, perfectly framed by the most important buildings of the citadel. Another highlight is the Inca Bridge, a remarkable stone structure that once served as an entrance or exit to the citadel. If you’re up for a hike, you can also climb Wayna Picchu (subject to availability), or “Young Mountain,” located opposite Machu Picchu. This ascent takes about an hour and leads to the “Temple of the Moon,” an underground complex that likely served the Inca elite (please note that re-entry to Machu Picchu and tickets for Wayna Picchu are not included in the original pricing). Finally, don’t miss the Puente del Inca, an incredible stone bridge that once served as an entrance or exit to the citadel.

In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Aguas Calientes train station for your return journey to Cusco.

• City Tour San Pedro Market & Nearby Ruins

Explore the historic city of Cusco, known as the Imperial City and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your tour begins at the vibrant San Pedro market, where you can immerse yourself in the local colors, flavors, and traditions. Next, visit the Koricancha Temple, once an Inca palace and the center of worship for the Sun God, now topped by a Dominican church.

Continue to the impressive Sacsayhuaman Fortress, a stunning example of Inca military architecture. Then, head to the Q’enqo archaeological site, once a key venue for important Inca ceremonies, before visiting the Plaza de Armas, home to the Cathedral, Cusco’s most iconic temple.

After the tour, you’ll be taken back to your hotel.

At the scheduled time, you will have a private transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
