Canoe Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge - Manaos

  • Welcome to Amazon Ecopark Lodge

The Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge is located about an hour from Manaos, nestled on the banks of the Tarumã River, a tributary of the Rio Negro, which feeds into the Amazon River. Your journey to the lodge is a scenic and straightforward trip, beginning with a 15-minute car ride to Marina Tauá, followed by a 20-minute boat ride along the river. The lodge uses regional-style boats or motorized canoes with protective canopies for this part of the journey, offering a comfortable and immersive introduction to the Amazon.

During your stay at the lodge, you will enjoy two lunches, three dinners, and three breakfasts, all served with a selection of beverages, excluding bottled mineral water, which is available for purchase. Accommodation is provided in a traditional double room, ensuring a comfortable and authentic experience.

The lodge offers a variety of tours to immerse you in the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Amazon. You can embark on a nature hike, visit the Monkey Forest, explore a caboclo’s house, or try your hand at fishing. In the evenings, a canoe tour allows you to experience the sounds of the jungle at night. A highlight of your stay will be the full-day tour to the Meeting of the Waters, where the dark Rio Negro and the sandy-colored Amazon River meet but do not mix.

More Adventures at Amazon Ecopark Lodge

monkey posing in a beach - Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge

  • Choose your own Adventure for your Last Day at the Amazon

Today, you have the freedom to choose from various activities offered at the Amazon Ecopark Lodge. Here are two recommended experiences:

Start your day with a visit to the Monkey Forest, a rehabilitation center created in 1991 to care for animals rescued from illegal trade. Here, monkeys are evaluated and cared for by veterinarians and biologists. You can observe these fascinating creatures during feeding times, which occur twice daily, and even adopt a monkey to follow its progress. This unique experience lasts between 40 minutes to an hour.

In the evening, embark on a night canoe tour. Paddle or motorized canoes take you into the heart of the jungle to experience the sounds of the night. With luck, you may spot small alligators, identifiable by their glowing red eyes. Your guide will demonstrate safe handling techniques and share insights into their habitat before releasing them back into the river. This nocturnal adventure lasts about an hour.

Back to Manaos

  • Farewell Amazon

Time to say goodbye to the awe-inspiring sunrise of Amazon and get ready to continue your journey!

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to your hotel in Manaos.

  • Explore the city

Enjoy the rest of the day getting to know Manaos. You will find plenty of buildings and sites that date to the end of the 19th century at the golden age of the caucho where Manaos saw massive level of growth accompanied by the great flow of European migrants that went to exploit the industry. The Adolpho Lisboa market in art nouveau style or the Amazonas theatre are great traces of that era. This time is also great to try some of the Amazonian gastronomy, mainly its diverse river food.
