Take a 1-hour scenic drive through lengas and cohiues, the ancient trees of Fueguian forests, until reaching the welcoming refuge. Once in Tierra del Fuego National Park, start a hike of approximately 2hr to the Emerald Lagoon. This is a moderately difficult trek (7 miles and 700 feet of uneven terrain) which will lead you across streams and through dense forests until reaching a lagoon; a beautiful spot hidden between immense snow-capped mountains. This is an excellent place for spotting foxes, condors and beavers. Marvel at the turquoise water while you take a break to enjoy a delicious box-lunch. After lunch, enjoy one last 1hr 30min trek to return to the refuge, where the vehicle will be waiting for you to take you back to Ushuaia.
Enjoy a hiking adventure and reach the hidden Emerald Lagoon. This is an exploratory visit to learn more about the vegetation and wildlife of the region (and a great opportunity to spot fox and condors!).
