Your day begins with a hotel pick-up, heading toward Los Glaciares National Park. Upon arrival at “Bajo las Sombras” port, we will board a boat and navigate across Lake Rico, enjoying stunning views of the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier along the way.

Once we reach the opposite shore, experienced mountain guides will greet us and divide participants into groups for the activity. You’ll be equipped with crampons, helmets, and harnesses, and the guides will provide a briefing on safety protocols.

The adventure starts with a walk along the lake shore, offering a chance to witness ice calvings and soak in the beauty of the glacier. Along the way, the guides will share insights into glaciology, enhancing your understanding of this incredible natural wonder.

With crampons securely in place, we’ll step onto the glacier itself for an unforgettable hour-long trek across the ice. As we explore, you’ll encounter fascinating features like deep crevasses, brilliant blue moulins, towering seracs, and shimmering turquoise ponds. Afterward, we’ll hike along the lateral moraine, taking in panoramic views of the glacier and its surroundings.

After descending from the ice, a scenic trail leads us through the enchanting Andean Patagonian forest back to the shelter, where you’ll have some free time to relax. We’ll then embark on the return boat ride to Puerto Bajo las Sombras.

Before the day concludes, we’ll visit the Glacier walkways, located 7 km from the port. This one-hour guided experience offers breathtaking panoramic views and opportunities to explore self-guided trails at your own pace.

Your adventure begins in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in El Calafate, heading along the iconic Route 40 to the historic “Luz Divina” Parador. After equipping ourselves with kayaking gear, we’ll set off down the tranquil waters of the La Leona River, covering a total distance of approximately 10 miles.

Midway through the journey, we’ll pause for an exciting 2-hour trek at Cerro Los Hornos. This hike offers a rare opportunity to explore a landscape filled with petrified logs, fossilized dinosaur bones, and ancient rock formations, some of the oldest on Earth.
