Travel Tales of Argentina
Traveling as a family can be both fun and rewarding, but it can also be a huge challenge. From worrying about different activities you need to plan to all the logistics to ensure a seamless trip, being a parent is hard.
Luckily, we have one of the best trip ideas for when you’re seeing the world with a toddler in tow: a visit to an Argentine Estancia! We pulled together a list of what you can do at your next estancia visit with a toddler!
Estancias can be home to so many different animals, from cows to sheep to horses and everything in between. You never know what new friends you are going to make when you take a trip out to the Argentine countryside.
2. Ride horses.
Sit in the saddle with your toddler as you guys ride horses through the fields. This is one experience that is sure to thrill both you and your little one. It’ll also teach your toddler what a horse really sounds like or how fast it can go! That’s way more exciting than any book or movie you could find.
3. Try new foods
Many estancias will host a parilla during your visit. This gives your a little tyke a chance to try out new flavors and foods, which can be hard to do in a new city when you just want him to eat. Because the meal is a big party, it’s a lot easier for your toddler to find something they’ll like and give them the option to try little pieces of new foods without breaking the bank or wasting a meal.
4. Play tag in the grass
Argentine estancias give toddlers a chance to run around and stress their legs, while giving you peace of mind. The estancias are out in the countryside, so there’s less to worry about. They are usually removed from main roads and found on great expanses of pasture land for the animals, which means your little one can run around to their heart’s content.
This also perfect for you because it makes your little one tire themselves out so that you can put them down for a nap at the estancia and enjoy a lazy afternoon watching other traditional activities at the ranch.
5. Go swimming!
If you’re heading to an estancia during an Argentine summer, make sure you grab your swim suit because a lot fo the estancias have pools on their grounds. This is especially fun for toddlers to splash around in the water with you and cool off under the hot summer sun in Argentina.
A day at an estancia is good, wholesome fun for the entire family, where children can run around the expansive grounds while parents relax with a glass of wine and listen to guitar music. If you are worried about planning vacations with toddlers, don’t worry as the fresh breeze and warm sunshine on the estancia is great for all ages!
