The Most Picture-Perfect Places in Ushuaia

The tantalizing city of Ushuaia is commonly called El Fin Del Mundo, which means the end of the world.  This gorgeous port city is considered the southernmost city in the world, hence the nickname. Ushuaia is sandwiched between the Beagle Channel on the South and the Martial mountain range to its north.

With mountains on one side and a beautiful channel on other, this city offers a variety of beautiful views. Here are some of the most picturesque places in the most picture-perfect city of the world:

Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse

Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse is one of the most iconic landmarks of the region and proudly marks the southernmost tip of Argentina. Beyond this landmark are only islands scattered around and Antarctica. Looking at this lighthouse, you will find yourself reshaping your perspective of life, staring out into the expanse.

Fuegian Andes

The Fuegian Andes is a breathtaking region that begins on the mountainous Estados Island and from there; it covers a large region with a complicated physiology. But no matter which part of the Fuegian Andes you manage to visit, it will still leave you completely dumbfounded. This region is home to clear watered Lake Fagnano and Lake Escondido. The clear blue sky, the reflecting lakes, the green hills with the mountains in the back drop, all come together to create this miraculous region bathed in natural beauty.

This place is so mesmerizing that even pictures can’t do it justice. A person needs to be there in order to understand the gripping image of the Fuegian Andes.

Tierra del Fuego National Park

The scenery in Tierra del Fuego National Park is so perfect; you almost don’t believe it’s real. As if any moment the cameras will start rolling and suck you into a story of a village girl, with big dreams and even bigger tragedies.

But this place is as real as it gets and truly has the ability to leave a person absolutely breathless and spellbound. The snowcapped mountains, the waterfall lakes, and the landscapes will make you want to take long walks in the park and learn all about the native Yámana people who called this lovely place home.

You can even kayak in the lakes or spend a beautiful night on the campsite and gaze at the stars.

Estancia Harberton

Estancia Harberton is right inside Tierra del Fuego National park and is so spectacular that it deserves a paragraph of its own. This ranch-like estate was founded by an English missionary in 1886 and, surprisingly, has been passed down generations after generations to today, where it is still run by the original owner’s descendants.

Not only is it one of the oldest estancias, but it is also one of the most beautiful ones in Ushuaia. This farm spreads over an area of 50,000 acres and overlooks the sparkling, icy waters of the Beagle Channel. By visiting here, you’ll not only get to witness a gorgeous sight and see wildlife unique to this far-flung region, but you will also get a glimpse into the history that passed right here.

Sights like these must not be left unseen. Good thing the beauty of Ushuaia speaks for itself and brings in hundreds of tourists every year. So, what do you think? Is this going to be your year to take a trip to Ushuaia
