Travel Tales of Argentina
When planning an international trip with a limited amount of time to fit in everything you want to see and do, picking and choosing the top destinations can be difficult. Express vacations allow you to take a short time, say a few days or a week, off of work or school and enjoy a short vacation. The problem is, how do you fit it all in?
Historical landmarks, natural wonders, art museums, city tours, dance shows and more, the list is endless! Especially in a country as big as Argentina, travel in Argentina can require great distances, which can be rather time-consuming depending on your destinations. In an express vacation, it is almost impossible to see everything you want. Some things will have to be eliminated in favor of something else that interests you more, and that’s okay! As long as you enjoy everything you see and make the most of your time, there is always an opportunity to return and catch what you missed on your express vacation in Argentina.
Argentina travel is exciting and varied. With territories that range from tropical rainforests to dry desert flatlands and frozen glaciers, the possibilities are endless! Here are some suggestions that you can use when choosing one or two destinations from the “tops” on an express vacation in Argentina. You can mix and match the destinations, but remember most trips in Argentina will require you to go through Buenos Aires, so it’s recommended to have the capital as one of your stops!
The biggest city in Argentina, Buenos Aires is the country’s political, cultural, gastronomical, and artistic capital. Make sure to check out Teatro Colon, the world famous opera house, San Telmo, a traditional neighborhood with a bohemian feel, the Casa Rosada and Plaza de Mayo, where epic events in Argentine history have occurred, and the MALBA museum of modern art. An express vacation in Buenos Aires can be done in around two to three days.
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Iguazu Waterfalls is basically a must see if you are coming to Argentina. Every Argentina guidebook is filled with pictures of the awe inspiring waterfalls, which culminate with the largest fall, the Garganta del Diablo at 82 meters high. An express vacation in Iguazu Falls National Park can be done in 2-3 days, including travel.
If you have a limited time in Patagonia, you will probably have to stick to one destination and enjoy it to the fullest. The classic image of Patagonia are the glaciers, of which the famous Perito Moreno Glacier is in El Calafate. A UNESCO World Heritage site, you can’t go wrong on an express vacation in Patagonia, spending two days hiking the glaciers and taking a boat trip to see them up close and personal.
Wine lovers must put Mendoza on their list. On an express vacation in Mendoza, you can visit multiple wineries by bicycle or private tour and chose one of the many outdoor activities in the area, like river rafting, trekking, or thermal baths. If you want to take in the best of the wines produced, take two full days to see different wine producing regions around the city.
