Travel Tales of Argentina
Looking for something a little more structured to do in Bariloche besides wandering around? Don’t get me wrong—wandering is great fun, but sometimes you want a plan that takes you directly to see the best parts that the Lake District has to offer. After all, when you only have a couple days to experience a place, you want to see as much as you can.
Tours are great opportunities to see the most beautiful and exciting parts of Bariloche while also learning a bit of background information and history. If they’re group tours, they allow you to meet other travelers and also learn a portion of what’s made Argentina the country it is today.
The following are all things you can do with us at Say Hueque in Bariloche to give you more variety during your stay.
EXPLORATION OF TRISTEZA SOUND
This excursion goes along the Brazo Tristeza, the most remote and less visited branch of the Lake Nahuel Huapi. The boat sails along this impressive sound with beautiful mountains and waterfalls. Once you reach the end of the lake, you will start a hike in the forest among amazing trees like coihues and alerces. The trail climbs up to a group of waterfalls on the Frey River, a place of great beauty. On the way back, you will enjoy lunch on board the boat Kaiken.
KAYAKING IN LAKE MASCARDI
This is the most intense one-day kayaking trip. We paddle along Tronador Branch of Lake Mascardi at the heart of Nahuel Huapi National Park. The turquoise coloured waters, evergreen forest and the amazing views of Tronador and Bonete Mountains, create this unique and dramatic landscape. One hour transfer from the Hotel to Camping Los Rapidos to stat the activity. We stop to have lunch on a remote beach.
Time to relax and then it’s back to the kayaks to continue to the end of the lake. Afternoon tea and transfer back to the hotel. Tour starts in the morning.

In the morning you will be transferred from the hotel to the Base of Catedral Ski Centre in order to take the cable car and chairlift to the beginning of the trail at 2100m/6900f.
It is a hard trekking through uneven, rocky terrain with wonderful views of the Andes Range. You will stop for lunch in a place surrounded by granite towers that forms “the Cathedral”. You will descend the mountain following a trail along the Van Titter creek. Transfer to the hotel.
RAFTING TO THE BORDER WITH CHILE. LEVELS III ND IV. MANSO RIVER
Rafting in the heart of the Andes. Get to the border with Chile navigating on the best rapids through narrow canyons, surrounded by exuberant vegetation.
This excursion turns up to be the most exciting for those looking for action. Medium physical condition and swimming knowledge is required.

This two-hour-long guided horseback ride leads us along a path through long living cypresses and coihues forests, surrounded by mountains and glacier streams, until we reach a point that offers an excellent panoramic view. From there, we will set off along the shore of the lake.
CROSSING THE BORDER WITH CHILE
This excursion leads us to the heart of the Andes Mountains navigating lakes of unbelievable beauty. Departing from “Pañuelo” Port, first we sail Nahuel Huapi, then “Frías” Lake to reach the border with Chile.
