4 Reasons to Visit Rio de Janeiro in 2016

Rio de Janeiro has a worldwide reputation for being an exotic, sizzling, exciting city with lots of beach life and lots of nightlife. This reputation in and of itself draws people to visit all year-round, but this year there’s even more reasons to visit Rio de Janeiro.

1. The Olympics

That’s right, the 2016 summer Olympics will be held in Rio from August 5-21 hosting over 10,000 athletes from 206 countries. If you didn’t make it to Brazil for the soccer world cup two summers ago, now is your chance to experience Rio at its fullest!

The committee plans to sell 7.5 million tickets, and 70 percent of those are reserved for Brazilian residents, so get a move-on before they’re gone! If you can’t score a ticket, it’s still worth it to experience the atmosphere of the city during a worldwide event.

2. The beaches

Okay, I went here. But seriously, the beaches in Rio are famous all over the world for having turquoise waters and beautiful people, not to mention delicious food sold all over the white sandy areas. Wanting an ice cream? You’ll get one brought to your towel. Piping hot grilled cheese on a stick? Same deal. Top it off with some fantastic people watching (that may inspire all of us to hit the gym) and a gorgeous Brazilian sunset, and your day is golden. Copacabana, anyone?!

3. Devaluation

It’s no secret that China’s stock markets had a bit of a freak out recently, and since China is Brazil’s biggest export market, the Brazilian Real has taken a tumble. Now Brazil, known as an expensive South American country, has become much more affordable due to the devaluation of China’s yuan. If you’ve been itching to visit Rio de Janeiro, now is the time to go before prices skyrocket again!

4. Deals on deals on deals!

It all depends on who you book your tours and/or trips through. Luckily, Say Hueque is offering a one-of-a-kind trip opportunity to see Rio de Janeiro for less than USD $500! See the Corcovado Hill, Jesus the Redeemer statue, Sugar Loaf, beaches, lagoons and botanical gardens. Could you ask for more? It’s all right here!
